Jag Mundhra likely to sign Big B for 'Shoot At Sight'

Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) Without naming superstar Amitabh Bachchan, filmmaker Jagmohan Mundhra said he is in talks with a ''famous 60-year-old Mumbai-based actor'' to play the role of a Muslim police officer, whose life changes after the July seven London bombings, in his film 'Shoot At Sight'.

Talking to UNI, Mr Mundhra, whose latest film 'Provoked' starring Aishwarya Rai will be premiered at the IIFA weekend in Dubai on June 14, said the script of 'Shoot At Sight' was ready.

''If all goes well, I may complete the film before October.

I have time on hand till October because French actress Monica Belluci will play the title role of 'Sonia', a film based on the life and times of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Belluci has expressed her availability after October. Right now, she is negotiating the modalities of her fees with the producers,'' he informed.

Mr Mundhra said he had met Monica at Cannes Film Festival where she was on the jury and she had told him that a younger actress would suit the age period of 18-30 in Sonia's role.

''Since Monica was on the jury, she did not get time to see 'Provoked' at Cannes. I have got a DVD of the movie to send it across to her in Paris,'' he added.

Mr Mundhra said Monica has not expressed any inclination to visit Ms Sonia Gandhi in Delhi right now. ''She may do so after the film is complete,'' he added.

Speaking about 'Provoked', the filmmaker said it was screened for Cannes thrice. ''There were three screenings and those who watched it gave the film a standing ovation. Aishwarya's performance was appreciated and the film struck a chord with the audience,'' he said.
