Jafar inspects Rohtak for Youth Commonwealth Games

Chandigarh, Jun 6 (UNI) Commonwealth Games Federation vice president T I Ibni Jafar, who is also President of Malaysia Olympic Association, today said the sports infrastructure available in Rohtak was good to a larger extent, but it would have to be upgraded to meet international norms for organising Commonwealth Youth Games.

Mr Jafar was in Rohtak today to see for himself sports infrastructure available at Maharishi Dayanand University campus for hosting Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008. He apprised the concerned officers about international norms.

Local MLA Shadi Lal Batra assured him of whole-hearted cooperation of the people of Rohtak for the hosting of games and said that they would provide an excellent hospitality.

Those who discussed various aspects of the Commonwealth Youth Games with Mr Jafar included Rohtak Deputy Commisioner R S Doon, the university's vice chancellor R S Dhankad, Haryana Sports deputy director Mahender Singh Hooda and Sports Officer of the University Dr Khazan Singh.
