Hrishikesh Mukherji serious; on ventilator in Leelavati hospital ICU

Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) Legendary film director Hrishikesh Mukherji has been admitted to Leelavati Hospital due to respiratory complications and low blood pressure.

Pradeep Bhattacharya, son-in-law of the 83 year old director, said Hrishida was undergoing dialysis for the last one year in the hospital as he was suffering from kidney failure. ''After the last dialysis, he developed complications. Now, he is in the ICU and on ventilator,'' he added.

Hrishida whose films were embodiment of simplicity and dwelled on different kinds of human emotions directed his last film Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla starrer ''Jhoot Bole Kauvva kate'' about a decade ago and was confined to bed for the last few years.
