Guilty would be severely punished : Major General

Aizawl, June 6 (UNI) Following allegations of molestation by an Army Medical Corp (AMC) personnel at Zuangtui locality, Major General E J Kochekkan said the 'guilty' would be severely punished if the allegations were proved.

Talking to UNI at Raj Bhavan here today, Mr Kocheekan said, ''Any one found guilty will be subjected to punishment''.

He said, ''An immediate enquiry has been ordered so that justice could be delivered.'' Following the incident' trouble started between the armed forces and residents of Thumpui and Zuangtui locality on Sunday.

Police had to fire 17 rounds after the angry mob pelted stones at them during a meeting to resolve the tension.
