FIR against Chandigarh-based doctor in Jessica Lall case

New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) Delhi Police have registered a criminal complaint against Chandigarh-based Dr J S Bedi for fabricating records along with one of the accused Vikas Gill in the Jessica Lall murder case.

A police statement said FIR No 232/2006 under IPC sections 120-B/197/467/468 and 471 was registered against Dr Bedi and others at the Tilak Marg police station.

The police took the step in the wake of last month's High Court directive that criminal proceedings be initiated against Dr Bedi, who had allegedly issued false medical certificates to Gill to help him escape trial proceedings.

Police also clarified that a city court had not summoned the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), but the Deputy Commissioner (South) in connection with the nationality certificate of socialite and witness Bina Ramani.
