Delhi BJP to block roads against oil price hike
New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) The BJP will organise road blockade in different parts of Delhi tomorrow to protest the steep hike in oil prices, the party unit said today.
''This is the 6th time oil prices have been increased in the last two years of UPA rule. The fresh hike comes at a time when all four oil companies -- Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and Indo-Barma Petroleum -- are earning profit,'' Delhi BJP unit president Harsh Vardhan said at a news conference.
He said the step would lead to increase in prices of foodgrains, vegetables, fruits and other essential commodities.
Senior leaders, office bearers and district presidents of the party will try to make people aware about the price hike by blocking the road at nearly one dozen spots in the city, he informed.
