Court withholds salary of former PS incharge

Patna, June 6 (UNI) A sessions court here today directed Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) to withhold the salary of former Sasaram Town police station in-charge Hari Narayan Prasad, who is the main witness in a kidnapping case.

Additional district and sessions judge of Patna Ram Prawesh Sharma, in an order, directed the DGP Bihar to withhold the salary of Mr Prasad till he appeared in the court with his son Pradeep Kumar for their deposition.

The case was registered with Agamkuan police station after Mr Prasad reported with written documents in 1999.

According to the FIR, Pradeep Kumar was kidnapped for ransom.

Later, police rescued him from a local hotel.

Hari Narayan Prasad was in-charge of Sasaram police station at that time.

The court had framed charges against the two accused in 1999.

Altogether three witnesses, including a relative of Mr Prasad, have been examined in the case so far.

Summons and other processes of the court were issued against Mr Prasad but he did not appear in the court.
