Couple killed in car accident

Shimla, June 6: A couple was killed and their daughter injured after their car fell into a gorge in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, police said.

The accident occurred at Soldi village near Bhavanagar in the district, killing two people on the spot and injuring their daughter.

Police said the injured girl as been admitted to a government hospital at Bhavanagar where her condition was stated to be serious.

The cause of the accident was, however, not immediately known, police said.

The dead were identified as Arjun Singh and his wife Saroj, while their daughter was yet to be identified.

Local MLA Jagat Singh Negi has announced an immediate relief of Rs 5,000 each to the next of the kin of the dead and Rs 2,000 to the injured.

Police said a case has been registered and investigations were on.
