Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) Members of the Opposition Congress in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly today staged a dharna in the well of the House, protesting against the ''partiality'' shown in taking up development works in constituencies of Opposition members.

The dharna was led by former Minister D K Shivakumar, who alleged that constituencies in Bangalore Rural and Urban had been totally neglected because they belonged to the Opposition members. He pointed out that works worth crores of Rupees were on in full swing in the Chief Minister's constituency.

He staged a dharna in the well of the House, demanding an assurance from the Chief Minister. Soon, other party members followed suit, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the session.

When the House reassembled, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy assured to look into the issue by holding a district-level meeting with elected representatives and officials on June 13 and 14.

The members withdrew the dharna following the assurance.
