Bomb-making goes awry in Afghan madrasa, 3 killed
GHAZNI, Afghanistan, June 6 (Reuters) Three people were killed and eight wounded today when explosives being fixed to a motorcycle blew up in a madrasa in southeast Afghanistan, a senior provincial official said.
The man fixing the explosives was among the wounded.
Sher Alam Ibrahimi, governor of Ghazni province, told Reuters that the head of the madrasa, or religious school, had been arrested and all the wounded were being held on suspicion of conspiring to carry out militant attacks.
Taliban guerrillas are active in Ghazni, 130-km south of the capital Kabul, though the upsurge in fighting during the bloodiest period in a 4 year old insurgency has been concentrated in provinces further south.
