BJP to launch 'Save Doda satyagraha' tomorrow
Chennai, June 6 (UNI) The (BJP) will launch an eight-day ''Save Doda satyagraha'' in Kashmir from tomorrow to condemn terrorism and demand stopping of ''ethnic cleansing'' in the valley.
Announcing this, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu told newspersons here that he would lead the first phase of the 'satyagraha' tomorrow, in which all the state units of the party would participate.
The Tamil Nadu unit of the party would join the agitation on the last day on June 15, he said.
Decrying ''ethnic cleansing'' going on in Jammu and Kashmir, he said so far more than five lakh Hindu pandits have been driven away from Doda district.
Mr Naidu, who called for strengthening military in the region, condemned Pakistan's demand for de-militarisation.
He suggested supply of modern weapons to the Village Defence Committees to enable them to protect themselves from terrorists attacks. The government should exhibit a political will to stop terrorism, he said.
