BJP to launch protests against genocide of Hindus in J

New Delhi, Jun 6 (UNI) Around 2000 BJP workers from Rajasthan and Kerala will begin demonstrations in Jammu from tomorrow against the genocide of Hindu population in Doda and Udhampur districts.

The protests were announced by BJP President Rajnath Singh after the killing of 19 Hindus in Doda and 13 in Udhampur which is seen by the party as a sinister design to uproot the 'Hindu pockets'. People were rounded up and mercilessly beaten to death leading to exodus of the Hindu families from rural Jammu. The BJP will combat this tactic with all its political might and hence the protests.

The party is lining up workers from all over the country to satge protests upto June 15.

The UPA government, the party alleged, continued to adopt soft attitude towards terrorism. The repeal of POTA had boosted the morale of the terrorists and now the talk of demilitarisation and self-rule in Kashmir will further give a fillip, BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley said.

The partymen from Punjab, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman will hold protests on June 8 followed by Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal states on June nine. Partymen belonging to Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh will demonstrate on June 10 while the youth of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa will hold dharna on June 11.

BJP workers from Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka will hold protests on June 12 while the partymen from Bihar, Bengal, Asom and other North-Eastern States are to hold rallies on the next day. Workers from Maharashtra and Goa will protest on June 14 while the workers from Delhi, Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli will protest on the last day.

Besides this the party has organised a human chain by the Yuva Morcha in all state capitals from June 23 to 30.
