BJP begins conference of NE states

Guwahati, June 6 (UNI) Emboldened by recent success of Asom Assembly election, the BJP has decided to revamp its North East organisation.

As a part of it, the BJP's North east cell today organised a general secretaries' meet of the party unit.

All the BJP state units of seven Northeastern states took part in the meeting, which was presided over by V Satish, the BJP organisational secretary of the North East.

The BJP got 15 seats this time in Asom, almost hundred per cent increase from eight.

Mr Satish urged the party functionaries to reach out to common people so that the party could be a viable alternative in future.
