Amanjyot shoots into lead at Southern India Junior Golf C'ship
Coimbatore, June 6(UNI) Jaipur's Amanjyot Singh shot a three-over 75 to grab the sole lead in Category 'A' of the Southern India Junior/Sub Junior Golf Championship here today.
Chennai's Pradyumana Prakash was two strokes behind the leader with a round of five-over 77. Close on his heels was defending champion Rahul Bakshi, who submitted a card of six-over 78.
Category B witnessed Bangalore's Chikka Rangappa shoot an eight-over 80 to take a two-stroke lead from Rommel Majumdar, Anish Gupta, Akash Vats and Wasin Khan, who all carded a round of 10-over 82.
In category 'C', Bangalore's Trishul Chinappa carded a round of nine-over 81 to take the lead. He was closely followed by Ankur Chadha and Ashbeer S Saini who shot 11-over 83 and 13-over 85 respectively.
Amanjyot had a good day in office today as he fired two birdies on the front nine and followed it up with another birdie on the 12 th on the back nine.
''The conditions were tough today with strong headwinds making life difficult,'' said Amanjyot, who feels putting will hold the key on the morrow.
