New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) ARINC Inc along with its Indian partner Bird Consultancy Services (BCS) today launched a state-of-art data link communication system at the Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata airports, deploying new VHF air-ground stations.

The new system, called ARINC GLOBALink, is a seamless, end-to-end data link that enables air crews to communicate and exchange information with ground crews and airline host systems anywhere in the world and without interruption.

Bird Group, Executive Director Ankur Bhatia told reporters here that the company would establish 20 such aviation radio stations in the country by 2007.

''We aim to set up five ground stations in the country this calendar year, and 15 such in 2007,'' Mr Bhatia said.

ARINC has more than 190 ground stations in the Asia Pacific region but this is its first GLOBALink VHF coverage in the sub-continent, ARINC Asia Pacific Vice President and MD Randy Pizzi said.

With the launch of GLOBALink VHF data link communications in four major airports in India, ARINC aims to increase its presence and export technology in the country, Mr Pizzi said.

The companies have already deployed new VHF air-ground stations at the four cities, he said, adding that it was in tune with its data link expansion plans in Asia Pacific.

''This announcement strengthens our commitment to the aviation market in offering customers a wide range of services and the ability to harness future technologies to help raise their operational efficiencies, while keeping costs low,'' Mr Bhatia said.

BCS has been working as ARINC's agent since 2003. Its parent company Bird Group posted a 25 per cent growth in its net profit at 45 million dollars in FY06.
