40th police meet from tomorrow

Visakhapatnam, Jun 6 (UNI) Seventeen ranges, including Railway Police will be vying for honours in the 40th Andhra Pradesh Police Sports and Games Meet-2006 here from tomorrow.

Talking to newspersons here today, city police commissioner D Kaumidi said Governor Rameswar Thakur would be the chief guest of the inaugural session of the three-day meet and Director General of Police Swarnajit Sen would preside over the function.

Briefing about the event Mr Kaumudi said, 17 ranges consisting the Railway Police and 1734 State Police personnel including 62 women personnel would be participating in the meet.

Seventeen grounds including Navy Ground, Port Stadium are in the final phase of preparations.
