3 Maoists killed in exchange of fire with police

Visakhapatnam, June 6 (UNI) Three Maoists were killed in exchange of fire between naxals and police in Banginakota area on the border between East Godavari and Visakhapatnam Districts early today.

Weapons including an SLR-1, Carbine and .303 rifle were recovered from the site by the combing party, according to Visakapatnam Rural Superintendent of Police, J G Murali.

Banginakota village falls under Donkarai police station limits.

Mr Murali said a red alert had been sounded between Sileru and Donkarai tribal agency areas.
