St John's, June 5 (UNI) BCCI has pledged all kind of support to the West Indies Cricket Board for smooth conducting of next year's World Cup in the Caribbeans and the WICB would lend their expertise when India, along with three other Asian neighbours, host the 2011 edition of the cricketing extravaganza.

BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah met WICB President Kenneth Gordon in New York this weekend at the New York Hilton Hotel during which both the board promised support for each other to conduct the World Cup, besides discussing about the one day series proposed for the United States and Canada in September.

''We have formed formal arrangements with the Indian board and we look forward to a real future of prosperity,'' Mr Gordon told the Caribbean Media Corporation.

''We will be hosting the International Cricket Council's World Cup (CWC) next year and the Indians have expressed an interest in helping us in any way required,'' he said.

''This is the start of good things to come I can assure you.

We will be working together on several projects. As you know India will be hosting the 2011 World Cup and they have expressed an interest in using some of our expertise when they host their tournament as well,'' the WICB chief said.

Former West Indies Clive Lloyd also attended the meeting at the behest of the BCCI.

''All over the world there is great respect for Clive Lloyd.

The Indian authorities asked for him to be present as we discussed details and that was quite appropriate,'' Mr Gordon explained.

''Mr Lloyd has a lot to offer West Indies cricket and world cricket, and we are delighted he is part of our present set-up,'' he added.
