UNIEF Mumbai meet to prepare draft of new information order

Mumbai, June 3 (UNI) The 9th All India conference of the UNI Employees' Federation (UNIEF) being held in Mumbai on June 4-5 will prepare the draft for a new information order in the country.

The conference, hosted by the UNI Employees' Union, Mumbai, will be attended by more than 100 delegates. Among the events scheduled during the conference is a seminar on the topic "Whole sellers of news in a global world" on June 5 at the Press Club, the conference venue.

The seminar will be addressed by heads of various news establishments and other luminaries from the field of media, politics, culture, business and Bollywood.

The conference will also felicitate veteran journalist and former Chief Editor of UNI, Kuldeep Nayar, with an award of 'Living Legend in Indian Journalism'. The award will be presented in absentia.

The draft of a book, "History of UNI-Back to Future", will also be released on the occasion. As a part of the two-day conference, a 'Mumbai Media Milan' will be held over dinner on Sunday.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil is to be the chief guest at the inaugural session on Sunday morning. The UNI Employees Federation is the apex body of the unions of journalists and other staff in the news agency, working at different centres in India.

To commemorate the occasion, UNIEF is also publishing a souvenir carrying exclusive articles, interviews and important information on various aspects of the media making it a collection useful for the general public.
