New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) Identification of toxins that caused the death of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's close aide Bibek Moitra could be done only after examination of the viscera at the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory, a source at the AIIMS, where a post-mortem of the body was conducted, said today.

''It is too early to say what kind of toxin caused death,'' the source told UNI while pointing out that drug overdose also was a form of poisoning.

''The CFSL report should make clear the nature of toxin and the possible cause of death,'' he said.

Asked about the post mortem report, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Agarwal said the cause of Mr Moitra's death was not known so far.

Doctors who carried out tests on Rahul Mahajan at the Apollo Hospital said they had not identified the cause of his illness.

Soon after the hospital said the toxic screen on him was negative, his uncle BJP leader Gopinath Munde alleged Rahul and Mr Moitra were poisoned.

While Mr Moitra died early yesterday, Rahul was admitted to Apollo Hospital in serious condition. The police was questioning four young men who allegedly supplied drugs to them at Mr Mahajan's 7 Safdarjang Road residence late on Thursday.

Domestic servants had earlier told police that Mr Moitra and Rahul had consumed champagne on Thursday night before the four young men arrived there on Mr Moitra's invitation.
