Ruby Club, Amritsar trounces DMW, Patiala in Hot Weather semis

Patiala, June 3 (UNI) In a one-sided match, Ruby Cricket Club, Amritsar, defeated DMW, Patiala, by 104 runs in the semifinals of the eighth Annual Hot Weather cricket tournament (Under-13) at the MES ground here today.

Ruby Cricket Club, which elected to bat first after winning the toss, made 147 runs in 37.4 overs. Ankush (34), Jagdeep Singh (24), Akashdeep (19) Vinay (14) and Mohit (14) were the main run getters for the team.

For DMW, Anmol took three wickets giving away 21 runs in six overs, while Bhupinder Singh captured two wickets, conceding 22 runs in six overs.

In reply, the DMW team were skittled out for 43 runs in 21.1 overs. Gaurav was the only player to reach double figures with 11 runs.

For Ruby Cricket Club, Shekhar delivered impressive bowling performance capturing four wickets, giving away just seven runs, while Guntas and Vinay captured three wickets each.

In another semi-final match played at Panchkula, DCA, Panchkula, defeated Samrat Cricket Club, Bahadurgarh (Haryana) by 109 runs.

The final match will be played here tomorrow between Ruby Cricket Club, Amritsar, and DCA, Panchkula, at the MES ground. The match will be of 50 overs for each side.
