Oxford bookstore announces three finalists of online contest
Mumbai, June 3 (UNI) Oxford bookstore's online contest - e-Author version 4.0, which was launched on January 27, has declared its first round of winning finalists.
Three contestants have been finalised in the ongoing short story contest on May 24, a release here said. They are - Joan Pinto (Mumbai-based freelance writer), Madhulika Liddle (an instructional designer from Delhi) and Uma Girish (Chennai-based freelance writer.
E-Author is a platform initiated by Oxford bookstore to provide a literary stage to budding writers within the country and to those who are serious about pursuing a career in writing, the release said.
As many as 5,000 contestants from various professional fields and aged between 20 and 40 years participated in the event.
The final three winners will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 each. The winning authors will have the privilege of getting their books published online at www.oxfordbookstore.com. In addition, the three winners' short stories will be printed in a special supplement of Reader's Digest.
The finalists will now have to submit three more short stories by June 30. Their entries will be subject to another round of evaluation by the jury panel, before the fourth e-Author is declared on August 21, the release said.
