Narang finishes 45th in Milan World Cup

New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) Ace marksman Gagan Narang cut a sorry figure in the Milan World Cup and came a disappointing 45th, while compatriot Sanjeev Rajput was a shade better, finishing 44th in the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event today.

Gagan scored 385 (98,96,95,96) in Prone, 382 in Standing (93,95,97,97) and 372 in Kneeling (94,95,91,92) to aggregate 1139 to finish 43rd.

Sanjeev Rajput, bronze medallist in the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, shot 395 (99,100,98,98) in Prone, 366 (93,93,90,90) in Standing and 378 (94,95,95,94) in Kneeling to finish just ahead of Narang.

The Gold in this event went to China's Zhiwei Liu who totalled 1270.5 and the Silver was won by Artur Aivazin (1268.1) of Ukrain while Slovak Rajmond Debevec won the Bronze with 1266.2.

In the women's section of the event, India's Kuheli Ganguly could not make her mark and finished 43rd with a score of 558.

Kuheli shot 191 (97,94) in Prone, 177(88,89) in Standing and 190 (95,95) in Kneeling, according to information received here.

The Chinese duo of Chengyi Wang (682) and Liuxi Wu (679.9) won the Gold and Bronze, respectively while Ukrain's Natallia Kalmysh bagged Silver (680.2).
