KPCC president urges CM to conduct probe against Minister
Thiruvananthapuram, June 3 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala today urged Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the allegations levelled against his cabinet colleague Public Works Minister P J Joseph in the Maithri Housing project.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Chennithala said he had written to the Chief Minister seeking a detailed inquiry into the allegations that funds to the tune of Rs 433 crore were diverted from the Maithri Housing project when Mr Joseph was the Housing Board minister in the previous LDF government.
Alleging that the the Housing Board had found irregularities in utilisation of Rs 731.61 crore loan taken from HUDCO to provide houses for the poor, he said now the Chief Minister should keep his word that there would be no place for corrupt persons in his cabinet.
