Jyoti survives scare, Jeev also makes cut at Wales Open
Newport, Wales, June 3 (UNI) Jyoti Randhawa survived a double bogey on the 14th hole to make the cut, along with compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh, after the halfway stage in the Wales Open here.
Both the Indians are tied for the 58th place with a two-day total of one-under 137.
Jyoti offset a couple of bogeys with birdies on the fifth and 12th but dropped two shots on the 14th that left him in a precarious position. But the former Asian Tour number one sunk a birdie on the 16th to bail himself out and make the cut with a one-over 70 in the second round.
Jeev, meanwhile, had an average outing as the Volvo China Open winner mixed two bogeys with as many birdies as he carded a level-par second round.
Meanwhile, Robert Karlsson broke the European Tour's 36-hole aggregate record yesterday which also opened a four-shot halfway lead.
Karlsson's rounds of 61 and 63 for a total of 124 eclipsed Tiger Woods and Frankie Minoza's records by a stroke and the Swede is four strokes clear of the British trio of Phillip Archer, Simon Dyson and Paul Broadhurst.
