Interim report of state finance commission presented to CM

Shimla, June 3 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, was today presented the interim report of the 3rd State Finance Commission by its Chairman, Mr Kuldeep Singh Pathania.

The state Chief Minister thanked the Chairman for putting in hard labour to prepare the report which was bound to speed up developmental activities.

He said that the recommendations made by the Commission would be examined by finance experts for their effective implementation.

Mr Singh said the state had adopted strict financial discipline and every penny of the public money was being utilised for bonafide purposes. There was no shortage of funds and more funds were now being made available for carrying out balanced, uniformed and need based development, he said.

He said that his government was committed to take special care of the areas which had remained neglected in terms of development and more funds were being made available to bring them at par with the other areas.

Mr Kuldeep Pathania apprised the Chief Minister of the contents of the report and said that all aspects had been taken into consideration while preparing and finalising the report.

He hoped that the report would be implemented by the government in letter and spirit for the benefit of the people.
