HM militant among two killed, one arrested in J and K

Srinagar, Jun 3 (UNI) A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant was among two people killed while security forces arrested an overground worker of the HM and busted a hideout in Jammu and Kashmir overnight, official spokesman said.

He said security forces killed a HM militant, Iftikhar Ahmad Killoo alias Iftadha alias Gaznavi, in an encounter at Khanni Top in Doda district of Jammu region late last night. One AK rifle, two magzines and two hand grenades were recovered from the slain militant. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants, he said.

He said militants shot dead one Abdul Majid Bawani at Chatroo last night.

Security forces arrested a HM upperground at Alora Zainpora in Pulwama district of south Kashmir alongwith four hand grenades, two UBGLs and 84 rounds of ammunition.

A militant hideout was busted at Juganu forest in Kishtwar and some arms and ammunition recovered by security forces. However, no one was arrested.
