Geet Sethi regains World Title after seven years
New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) Giving a dazzling display on the green baize, Geet Sethi outcued England's Lee Lagan by 1000 points to regain the World Professional Billiards title in Wales (UK).
The Indian who virtually ruled the green baize in most of the 90's -- winning the World title four times in that decade -- regained it after a gap of seven year having last claimed it in 1995.
Though the title encounter lasted well over 30 minutes it was Geet who dominated the table and in the process earned a 5000 pounds prize cheque, according to information received here today.
The Indian, before taking on Lagan had ousted another tough Briton Chris Shutt in the semi finals. Geet survived many anxious moments before prevailing over Shutt by 400 points.
