Bengal tourists from Kashmir arrive by special aircraft

Kolkata, Jun 2 (UNI) Twenty tourists, 12 of them injured, who survived attacks from terrorists in Srinagar on Wednesday, arrived here today by a special aircraft of BSF amids tight security and medical assistance.

They were flown here via New Delhi, accompanied by two CPI(M) mps Amitava Nandy and Sudhanshu Sil. Mr Sil said altogether twenty tourists including 12 injured arrived by the special flight.

Anxious relatives waiting for hours to receive near and dear heaved a sigh of relief when the BSF plane touched down at dum dum airport this evening.

Among them Sugata Roy, a relative of Saroj Dutta of Kasba, was not so lucky as Dutta succummed to his injuries in Srinagar this monring.

Roy had come with a cratch to receive Sujoy Dutta, son of Saroj Dutta, who received splinter injuires in his legs. He was informed to get such cratch for injured Sujoy.

Saroj Dutta's body is expected here by later tonight. His body was now in New Delhi airport. An Indian flight will bring the body tonight, official sources said.

Arrangements were made to provide medical help at the airport to the tourists soon after their arrival.

Fourteen ambulances were kept parking for them to take them state owned SSKM hospital and Medical College and Hospital as beds for them were reserved. They were taken to hospitals for further medical check up and if situation demaded, many of them to be admitted and rest would be released, sources said.

West Bengal Transport and Sports minister Subash Chakraborty was present to receive the tourists. Besides him many army and police officials were present at the airport.
