Another pleasant day as cool winds lower mercury to 31 degree C
New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) It was another day of pleasant weather in the capital, as cool South Easterly winds and a heavily overcast sky led to a further drop in mercury to 31.1 degree C, nearly ten degrees below normal.
Thick clouds enveloped the skyline for the second day running, bringing much-need relief to Delhiites from the sultry weather of the past few days.
Weathermen say the cool weather in Delhi is an offshoot of the upper air cyclonic storm originating from Haryana and its neighbouring areas.
The cyclonic storm led to light showers yesterday, bringing down the mercury by as much as ten degrees Celsius, from 41 degree C on Thursday.
About 1.4 mm of rainfall was recorded in the capital yesterday.
The coolness in the air was likely to remain tomorrow also with the weather office forecasting a generally cloudy sky with rain and thundershowers over the next 24 hours.
