Agilent Technologies Foundation brings 'Quest' to Bangalore
Bangalore, June 3 (UNI) Agilent Technologies Foundation, a non-profit organisation, has started the Bangalore chapter of 'Quest' with an aim to improve the quality of Mathematics and Science education in under-privileged schools to equip students for competition in the higher academic and professional environments.
The programme was started yesterday in association with SNS Foundation and Indus International School, according to a release here.
During the first year, 12 teachers would be trained as 'Master Trainers' and laboratories upgraded in three schools in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Gurgaon. These teachers would in turn teach 1,200 students and train additional teachers in their respective schools, the release said, adding that Agilent Technologies would contribute about Rs 20 lakh for the first phase of the programme.
Agilent Foundation President and Country General Manager Venkatesh Valluri said ''it is our constant endeavour to enrich the lives of communities around us and 'Quest' is one of the initiatives in that direction.'' UNI MSP GD TS1741
