Taps go dry despite torrential rains in Goa
Panaji, June 2 (UNI) Taps supplying drinking water in several parts of the capital have gone dry for the past three days, even as the state had been receiving torrential rains since Monday due to advanced monsoon.
Water supply was disrupted mainly due to crack in pipelines and their dislocation due to landslide at Chimbel, PWD sources said.
Several people, including those residing in government flats at St Inez, queued up to draw water from tankers while others looked for alternative sources in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, rains continued to lash Goa after a brief respite.
Inundated low lying areas and frequent power failures have made life miserable, particularly in South Goa where electric poles and trees uprooted due to the downpour.
