Select metal prices suffers setback on weak industrial demand
Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) Select metal prices suffered a setback on weak industrial demand along with London metal exchange, traders at the metal exchange here today said.
In the ferrous section, rates of copper heavy and copepr utensils declined by Rs 500 each per quintal while brass utensils and brass cuttings eased by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal, respectively, on lack of fresh demand.
In the non-ferrous segment, aluminium ingots and zinc slab eased by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal, respectively, on increase of stock supply.
Tin slab went up by Rs five per kg on improved demand while Nickel cathode prices came down by Rs ten per kg, on thin buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,000, copper utensils - Rs 31,000, brass utensils - Rs 21,200, brass cuttings - Rs 24,000, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,800.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,800, zinc slab - Rs 19,300, lead ingots - Rs 6,700, tin slab - Rs 480 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,090 (per kg).
