Samsung not for global tender for TV sets
Coimbatore, June 2 (UNI) Samsung India, one of the largest television manufactures in the country, today announced their decision to keep away from the proposed global tender invited by Tamil Nadu government for TV sets as per the poll promise.
Talking to newsmen V L Naraayan, the regional head, South India, here said the company had stopped producing 14 inch TVS two years ago and the government had invited tenders for the same.
When asked about the impact of free TV offer on the market, he said some retail agents in the rural areas had postponed the purchase .
Mr Narayan claimed that the company had 22 per cent stake in TV market and it was in the process of introducing 'Bordeaux LCD' with advanced picture, sound and design technologies.
