RBI to issue Rs 10 notes with inset letter 'r'

Jammu, June 2 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon issue Rs 10 denomination bank notes with inset letter 'r' in both numbering panels in the Mahatma Gandhi series with additional new security features bearing the signature of RBI Governor Y V Reddy.

Except for the change in the inset letter, the design of these Rs 10 notes will be similar in all respects to the bank notes issued earlier in the Mahatma Gandhi series on April 27, an official release said.

RBI has clarified that all bank notes in the denomination of Rs 10 issued by the bank in the past will continue to be legal tender.
