Rain lashed Gujarat for second day, one more die of electrocution

Ahmedabad, Jun 2 (UNI) Widespread rain continued to lash Gujarat, barring the Kutch and Jamnagar districts, today on the second day of the monsoon in the state.

The maximum rainfall reported from Amreli (188 mm), followed by Valsad 177 mm, Babra 165 mm and Jasdan 128, according to the state emergency response centre.

Surat, Umargam, Navsari, Gandevi, Lathi, Liliya, Dhari and Talala received over 100 mm rainfall, as Sinor, Veraval, Visnagar, Dediyapada, Kadi, Mahuva, Vallabhipur, Pardi, Songadh and Viramgam received between 75-100 mm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, death of a farmer, Khimadeva Kanara (age 30), due to electrocution was reported from Modhpar village in Lalpur taluka today. One person had died of electrocution in Vadodara yesterday UNI XR-VKC PM ARB RK2020
