Rahul continues to be critical
New Delhi, June 2 (UNI) The condition of late BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul continued to remain critical after 14 hours of treatment at the Apollo Hospital here today.
''There is not much change in his medical condition...He continues to be critical but haemodynamically stable. He is still on ventilator support. All investigations as per protocol, including toxic screen, are under process,'' Dr Umesh Gupta, a spokesman for the hospital told reporters this evening.
He said a team of five doctors was monitoring Rahul's condition on a continuous basis.
''The cause of his condition is still unclear and is being investigated,'' he said, adding the results of tests in this regard were awaited.
To questions, Dr Gupta said Rahul had low BP, shallow breathing and low oxygen saturation levels in the blood when he was brought to the hospital at 0255 hrs. Though blood pressure and breathing levels had since normalised and his condition had improved, Rahul was still in critical state, he said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul met Union Home Secretary V K Duggal and briefed him about the case and its probe, official sources said.
