Lahore, Jun 2 (UNI) Legendary West Indies pacer Andy Roberts may not be convinced with Shoaib Akhtar's action, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) insists that the controversy has been put to rest once and for all with the International Cricket Council (ICC) clearing the bowler.

''We believe that the episode related to Shoaib's chucking controversy is over. He has been cleared to bowl by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and would be playing for Pakistan in England if he regains full fitness,'' Shaharyar Khan, chairman of the PCB told ''The News''.

Roberts recently accused tearaway pacers Brett Lee and Shoaib of having a suspect action and also lambasted the ICC for allegedly bending rules which encouraged chucking.

Meanwhile, the PCB chief also rubbished allegations that Shoaib's current fitness problem was a ploy created by Shoaib himself to evade the scanner over his bowling action.

''We have received nothing from the ICC or any other individual over Shoaib's action and I don't expect to receive any complaint either because had it been an issue it would have been raised much earlier,'' he added.
