MCX index closes 13.71 pts up at 2307.01

Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) recorded a turnover of Rs 2,756.87 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at 2307.01 up by 13.71 points (0.59 per cent).

The total trades registered were 42,961.

The MCX metal index closed at 2587.82 up by 25.16 points (0.97 per cent), while MCX energy was the lone loser and closed at 2724.67 down by 14.71 points (-0.54 per cent) and MCX agri index closed at 1608.53 up by 30.66 (1.91 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 2,022.36 crore, including various MCX gold at Rs 1,361.77 crore and MCX silver at Rs 660.58 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 24,919. The open interest for gold was 7,919 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 2,77,350 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 392.18 crore with 9,025 trades, while MCX aluminium recorded a turnover of Rs 6.40 crore with 231 trades and MCX zinc recorded a turnover of Rs 67.10 crore with 799 trades.

In the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 53.36 crore with open interest of 3,15,200 BBL.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 16.56 crore with 698 trades and mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 42.52 crore with 2,180 trades while chana registered a turnover of Rs 21.65 crore with 736 trades.

MCX gold June-06 closed at Rs 9,407 up by Rs 34 (0.36 per cent), August closed at Rs 9,604 up by Rs 16 (0.17 per cent) and October closed at Rs 9,793 up by Rs 23 (0.23 per cent).

MCX silver July-06 closed at Rs 18,764 up by Rs 255 (1.36 per cent), September closed at Rs 19,241 up by Rs 254 (1.32 per cent) and December closed at Rs 19,783 up by Rs 266 (1.34 per cent).
