Major tragedy averted, IED defused in Nishat area

Srinagar, June 2 (UNI) Panic gripped Mughal garden Nishat area on the bank of the famed Dal Lake when a patrol party today detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants to target security force convoy.

The area was immediately sealed and all the civilians were taken to safer place and traffic was stopped on the road.

It is believed that militants had planted an IED to target security force convoy on way to Leh.

The bomd disposal squad was summoned who later defused.
