Low lying areas in North Triura inundated
Agartala, June 02 (UNI) At least 250 families were affected due to flood in Tripura's north districts of Kailashahar and Dasda.
According to official sources, though the situation in Kanchanpur improved following receding of water, it remaind grim in low lying areas of Kailashahar and Kumarghat.
Some of the affected families returned to their homes as the situation improved in Kanchanpur and Dasda areas.
Water of Deo river in Kanchanpur had submerged many areas though it had started receding slowly.
Flood waters entered Kailashahar and Kumarghat following heavy rains in catchment areas of Deo and Manu rivers.
The sources said the administration was fully prepared to tackle the situation.
More rains are likely to occur in Tripura.
The capital city of Agartala experienced moderate rain this morning.
