K'taka CM to visit naxal-hit districts soon
Bangalore, June 2 (UNI) In an attempt to find a solution to the naxalite problem, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said he would personally visit the naxal-hit districts soon.
Talking to reporters here, he said he would camp in Udupi for atleast three days to make an on-the-spot study of the problem and find a solution to the menace. He would also visit Chikmagalur district in this connection, he added.
Mr Kumaraswamy said he had already set up a committee of Revenue officials to submit a comprehensive report on the issue.
He said there was no change in his Government's earlier decision to hold an one-day session of Legislature on June five to bring in an amendment to the Karnataka Legislature (Prevention of Disqualification) Act, 1957.
The Chief Minister, who took part in a meeting of the Science and Technology department, said no Chief Minister had held such a meeting of the department in the past three years. However, he would not like to criticise the previous Governments regarding their concern for reaching out the benefits of science and technology to the rural population, he added.
