Karunanidhi to visit New Delhi on June 4

Chennai, June 2 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will pay a two-day visit to New Delhi, in what would be his maiden visit to the national capital after assuming office for a record fifth time.

Mr Karunanidhi who would leave for Delhi on June four, is scheduled to meet among others President A P J Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi during his two-day stay on June five and six.

According to the official programme, the octogenarian leader would leave for New Delhi at 1735 hrs on June four and arrive in the capital at 2010 hrs.

He would meet Ms Gandhi at 1130 hrs on June five at the latter's Janpat Road residence and the Prime Minister at 1600 hrs at his Race Course road residence and call on the President at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan at 1830 hrs.

On June six, Mr Karunanidhi would meet Planning Commission Deputy Chairman M S Ahluwalia between 1030 to 1200 hrs, former Prime Minister and his close friend V P Singh at 1230 hrs and CPI(M) senior leader Harkishan Singh at 1545 hrs.

He would leave for Chennai at 1655 hrs and arrive here at 1935 hrs, on June six.
