Insurance office gutted in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Jun 2 (UNI) Property worth Rs 3 crore was gutted in a fire, which broke out at the regional office of National Insurance Company in the busy Bashirbagh area here today.
Police said the fire in the office, located on the third floor of a eight-storied building, was spotted by the residents of a neigbouring building.
However, the fire was put out before it could spread to adjoining buildings.
Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir, who visited the spot, told mediapersons the fire was the result of ''non-compliance of safety rules.'' He said the government had already identified about a thousand unsafe buildings in the city and would seal them, if safety guidelines were not implemented.
The officials of National Insurance assured the clients that though their computers and server were burnt, they have the entire data in back-up files.
