Injured Bengali tourist dies, others flown to Delhi
Srinagar, Jun 2 (UNI) One of the tourists from West Bengal, injured in Wednesday's grenade blast at Dalgate, died early this morning, Official sources said.
The tourist, S K Dutta, critically wounded in the attack by unidentified militants, died at the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura early this morning, the sources said.
About 25 others, who sustained injuries in the blast, were flown to Delhi in a Border Security Force (BSF) aircraft today from where they will be taken to Kolkata.
Twenty-eight tourists were injured in two blasts.
The sources said the mortal remains of Dutta were taken to Delhi in a scheduled flight.
Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had visited the hospital yesterday. He had also announced Rs 5000 compensation to those injured.
Almost all the separatist organisations and several traders, connected with tourism in the state have strongly condemned the attack on tourists.
