Graduation parade at AFTC

Bangalore, June 2 (UNI) The 66th graduation parade of the aeronautical engineering course at the Air Force Technical College at Jalahalli here was held today.

Speaking on the occasion, Air Marshal A K Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, exhorted the passing out officers to strive for professional excellence and uphold the dignity of the Indian Air Force and the nation.

Reminding the passing out officers that their process of learning had just begun, he emphasised the need for cost-effective maintenance of aircraft, weapons and communication systems.

Mr Singh also awarded trophies and medallions to those officers who had excelled in the course. Flying Officer Bhupinder Bir Singh bagged the prestigious 'President's Plaque' for the best all rounder. Flying Officer Satvinder Singh won the 'Vice-President's Sword' for the best air warrior in the course and the Chief of Air Staff medal for the best in mechanical and electronics stream was awarded to Flying Officer Amit Kumar Singh and Flying Officer Bhupinder Bir Singh respectively.
