Governor condoles demise of Madhav Gadkari

Mumbai, Jun 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna has expressed his condolences on the sad demise of veteran journalist Madhav Gadkari in Pune yesterday.

In his condolence message here today, Mr Krishna said he was deeply saddened to know of the demise of veteran journlist.

He said, ''Mr Gadkari was well known to the people of Maharashtra as an activist-journalist. Journalism to him was a means to secure justice for the society, the state and the people at large. With his trade mark style, he would write his heart out to raise the problems of national interests through his columns and editorials that compelled authorities to take congnizance of his views.'' In his death, the state has lost a vigilant sentinel of democracy and free press. On behalf of the people of Maharashtra and on his own behalf, he paid his deep respect to Mr Gadkari, the Governor added.
