FGN militant killed

Kohima, June 2 (UNI) A top leader of underground organisation Federal Government of Nagaland was shot dead by unidentified gunmen here last evening following inter-factional rivalry, sources today said.

I Mar Jamir(55), self-styled education minister of the FGN, was shot dead at the BOC market area after being chased by the assailants, the sources said.

Police later recovered one empty case of 9 mm carbine pistol from the spot.

Jamir is the third top leader of the underground factions who died due to inter-factional clashes within a fortnight.

On May 18, suspected NSCN-IM cadres had shot dead another self-styled minister of NSCN (K) Ngampan Konyak. In retaliation, the NSCN(K) killed another top leader of NSCN-IM in Zunheboto town on May 24.
