EC to hold biennial elections to three RS seats from Kerala
New Delhi, June 2 (UNI) The Election Commission will hold biennial election for three Rajya Sabha seats from Kerala, which are falling vacant with the term of the existing members expiring, on June 26.
According to an EC release issued here today, the seats would fall vacant on July 1, following the completion of tenures of M P Abdussamad Samadani, Prof P J Kurian and N K Premachandran, who had resigned on May 17.
The notification for the election would be issued on June 9 and the last date for nominations is June 16. The scrutiny of nominations will take place the next day and the last date for withdrawal of candidatures will be June 19. Polling, if required, will be on June 26 and counting will take place the same day. The entire process will be completed by June 29, the release added.
