Sydney, Jun 2 (UNI) Steve and Mark Waugh, who turn 41 today, seem set to receive a belated birthday gift with reports claiming that the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) Trust is going to rename the Doug Walters Stand after the twins.

A 60 million dollar reconstruction of the stand, which will add 2800 more seats to the ground's current capacity of 44,000, will begin next year after the Ashes series, according to an Australian Associated Press report.

Meanwhile, David Gilbert, Cricket New South Wales chief executive said the decision to rename the stand as the Waugh Stand was an obvious choice.

''That'll be interesting. Doug Walters was a huge idol of the 'Hillites', as it was, but the hill is gone. I would imagine the (SCG) Trust would have a few names in mind,'' he said.

''I suppose the most obvious one would be the Waugh Stand. When you've had Steve and Mark notch up nearly 300 Tests between them, absolute New South Wales boys through and through, it'd be hard to go past those two in my view.'' But the final call on the stand's name still rests on the SCG Trust though the Waugh Stand is a favourite among the fans.
